Want to get more out of Grasshopper?

This workshop will introduce the fundamentals of .net development through the creation of a custom Grasshopper plugin. Starting in Grasshopper participants will quickly learn C# and Rhino Common then walk up to building a plugin in Visual Studio by referencing in additional Libraries and writing a custom Library. The workshop will conclude with the production of a custom visualization window and dashboard.

2. Grasshopper 3D

3. Microsoft Visual Studio

David Mans is an Associate Applications Developer at Thornton Tomasetti | CORE studio where he focuses on public facing application design and development and computational geometry. Before CORE studio he was the Senior Computational Designer for Grimshaw Architects NYC and a Lead Designer on the Dubai Expo 2020 Sustainability Pavilion’s central canopy. Previously he was a Designer in Woods Bagot’s Global Studio where he worked on over 50 projects in 11 countries including façade design for the multiple award-winning SAHMRI project in Adelaide Australia. He is also a Visiting Professor at Pratt Institute School of Architecture educating the next generation of designers in computation and branding for over 10 years. Outside of his professional work, he authors multiple open source plugins for Grasshopper 3d with over 50 thousand downloads collectively and used across a broad range of design industries.

Rhino Compute + Rhino3dm

Dale Fugier with Travis Serio Rhino Compute and Rhino3dm. Learn how to integrate Rhino geometry functions in your own applications outside of Rhino. This will also include using the new REST Api, Compute allowing access to much of Rhino geometry functions from anywhere embedded in a JSON format. We also may explore embedding Rhino in other Applications using recent Rhino Inside technology.

Description
